Chemical (elemental) analyses of metals, alloys, inorganic coatings, thin films and surface-modified materials are carried out in the GD-OES laboratory. They include bulk analysis and also depth profile analysis, the latter concerns materials the composition of which depends on the depth under the surface. The depth accessible in the depth-resolved analysis ranges from tens of nanometers to tens of micrometers. This is not a microanalysis, the analyzed spot is circular, with a diameter of 2.5 mm or 4 mm.

The laboratory is equipped with the GDA750HR spectrometer (Spectruma GmbH.)
